In the midst of revolutionary France, Jean Valjean is released from prison after serving 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread. Determined to rebuild his life, he finds redemption through an act of compassion — but is relentlessly pursued by the uncompromising Inspector Javert, who believes a man’s past can never truly be escaped. As Valjean assumes a new identity and becomes a respected citizen, his life becomes intertwined with the orphaned Cosette, whose future he vows to protect.
Years later, as political unrest sweeps through Paris, Cosette falls in love with the idealistic Marius, while a passionate group of young revolutionaries prepares to fight for freedom. Against a backdrop of love, sacrifice, loss, and rebellion, Valjean must confront the ghosts of his past and make one final choice that will change the lives of everyone around him.
Featuring the beloved songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home,” “Stars,” and “One Day More,” LES MISÉRABLES is a sweeping, unforgettable musical about the power of love, the possibility of redemption, and the enduring fight for a better tomorrow.
