Step into a world of magic, mischief, and romance! This traditional ballet is based on a story from the 19th-century revolving around a young couple, Swanhilda and Franz. Their relationship is put to the test when a beautiful girl named Coppélia appears on the balcony of the mysterious Dr. Coppélius’s house. Franz becomes infatuated with her, sparking jealousy and frustration from Swanhilda, but they both are unaware that Coppélia is simply one of Dr. Coppélius’s mechanical doll creations. After Swanhilda discovers the truth, she exposes the ruse, but can she forgive Franz? Will their young love prevail? Don’t miss this delicate tale of beauty, love, and what makes us all human.

ABOUT CECIL DANCE THEATRE:
Cecil Dance Theatre (CDT) is the senior performing company in Cecil Dancenter's pre-professional program. This group of talented, dedicated dancers devotes many hours to company rehearsals in addition to rigorous class schedules. The opportunities provided to these students include stage experience in two full-scale shows per year, community outreach performances, and participation options in various master classes, summer intensive programs, and much more.
The hard work and dedication invested by our students, guest artists, costumers, and prop and stage crews show in the professional quality of the performances that should not be missed! Choreographer Abby Pinkerton adds her own special touch to each production with innovative choreography, special effects, and musical score. We would love to see you in the audience each spring for our show and each December for our holiday production.
