This festive family-friendly ballet will have your holiday spirit soaring as Clara and her Nutcracker Prince embark on an adventure that will have them battling the Mouse King, journeying through the Land of Sweets, and serving as guests of honor during the special dance celebrations hosted by the Sugar Plum Fairy! There will even be a touch of magic as Uncle Drosselmeyer brings his mechanical dolls to life as they are presented to the children of the Silberhaus family. The Land of Snow will captivate audiences as our dancers grace the stage like falling snowflakes as an enchanted winter wonderland encapsulates Clara and her Prince. Anya Ivanova-Bojko choreographs yet another production of The Nutcracker for Cecil Dance Theatre in which she adds her unique touch to this timeless holiday tradition.

Audience members will enjoy this classic tale that will have your heart wishing for more! The telling of this timeless story has familiar characters that will sweep you away to the Prince’s kingdom where you’ll have a ball watching our talented cast dance across the stage. The evil step-mother and step-sisters who torment Cinderella provide an entertaining part to the plot while the Fairy Godmother brings in the magic that will leave audiences spellbound.

ABOUT THE CECIL DANCE THEATRE:
Cecil Dance Theatre (CDT) is the senior performing company in Cecil Dancenter's pre-professional program. This group of talented, dedicated dancers devote many hours to company rehearsals in addition to rigorous class schedules. The opportunities provided to these students include stage experience in two full-scale shows per year plus community outreach performances in addition to participation options in various master classes, summer intensive programs, and much more.
The hard work and dedication that is invested by our students, guest artists, costumers, and prop and stage crews shows in the professional quality of the performances that should not be missed! Choreographer and Russian ballet mistress Anya Ivanova-Bojko adds her own special touch to each production with intricate choreography, special effects, and musical score. We would love to see you in the audience each spring for our show and each December for our holiday production.
